Part 1 Preliminary

1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Draft proposal of the Commonwealth of Australia
Constitution Act.

2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Assent of the Australian People.

3 A new Constitution
The Commonwealth Constitution Bill was put to voters of a Referendum 1898 and was
accepted by the People in every State. The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act
shall be put to the voters by Referendum and if accepted by the People shall replace the Commonwealth Constitution Bill.

Chapter 1 Section 2 as amended by this Act is omitted when a Head of State of the Commonwealth is elected in accordance with Chapter 1 Section 14, Subsection 14 which
states;

The first Head of State of the Commonwealth shall be the person occupying the position of Governor-General at the date of the enactment of this section.
.
As soon as practicable after the date of the enactment of this section, and in any event not
later than 90 days, after the date of the enactment of this section, a person shall be elected
in accordance with this Constitution;.
